Surgical eights removal
from 699 PLN

Eighth extraction allows you to restore the correct position of the teeth and thus prevent displacement of the rest of the dentition. The elimination of extra teeth sometimes helps to prevent the development of orthodontic defects. Thus, it turns out to be an antidote for recurrent inflammation, ulceration, gum swelling, cysts and even migraines.

Dental surgeons recommend that you remove eights that are partially or completely retained. Due to the difficult access to wisdom teeth, hygiene in this area often leaves much to be desired, favoring the formation of caries.

Another serious effect of wisdom teeth being blown out is the so-called adjacent teeth resorption. This phenomenon manifests itself in the disappearance of the roots of the adjacent teeth, which may later be associated with loosening of the teeth, or even their loss.

Do eights always have to be removed?

If the presence of wisdom teeth does not result in any unpleasant discomfort, you can refrain from removing them. Sometimes it turns out that the “additional” teeth in the future will play the role of a prosthetic abutment or support for the remaining molars.

The basis for the decision to remove eights are the patient’s experiences and thorough examinations. At Corten Dental Elite, we conduct comprehensive dental diagnostics, and in the case of assessing the position of the eights, the basis is a pantomographic image.

Our specialist can help you dispel any doubts. The final decision on whether to leave or remove wisdom teeth is made by the dental surgeon based on the analysis of the x-ray image.

Why do we get eighths?

Wisdom teeth are among the last molars to erupt. Their function is to facilitate the chewing and grinding of food. Our ancestors had significantly larger jaws than modern humans. Moreover, their meat consumption was very high, and therefore the extra molars were just right.

Today we have shorter dental arches and, consequently, the eights are not so much a difficulty as the lack of space for them. Insufficient space for wisdom teeth often causes pain radiating through the jaw to the ear. Eights usually appear in people in their 20s.
